    Equity Leadership Coach

Community Forum Sessions are designed to provide a participatory learning experience that helps different members of the Multnomah ESD community deepen their knowledge and application of equity concepts for improving educational outcomes for marginalized student populations.  The Equity Collaborative will facilitate a Community Forum Session in Four Town Hall style meetings.  Every Community Forum Session includes time for reflection on current experience, as well as discussion of new learning, and next steps.

It takes a community: collaborating and fostering youth to become positive members of society

Dr. Lynette Tannis    Dr Tannis Bio

This session focuses on the importance of community, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, and strategies for reducing absenteeism and increasing positive engagement in education.  Participants will: receive an overview of our nation's and Oregon's incarcerated youth; reflect on a case study; learn about promising practices for incarcerated youth transitioning back to their communities; and reflect upon what their community is doing well and areas where they recognize the community must improve; concluding with a formal “call to action.”
