Karen Finch, Student Data Coordinator
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summary
The Student Data Coordinator position was created as a result of recommendations of the Student Data Task Force. This task force, consisting of staff from four component districts and MESD, was convened to develop plans and communicate priorities for providing access to information about MESD students to the many partner agencies seeking to conduct research about MESD students. The creation of the Student Data Coordinator position was deemed the most efficient way to process student data requests encompassing multiple districts within MESD. The role of the Student Data Coordinator includes coordinating data requests between districts and partner agencies, extracting student data from the student information system (eSIS), preparing and distributing extracted data for review by district staff, and helping partner agencies interpret the data.
