Emanuel Hospital Rehabilitation
The Legacy Emanuel Rehabilitation classroom is part of a comprehensive rehabilitation process for school age children who have suffered from, but not limited to, traumatic/acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, cancer and other medical conditions.
The Rehabilitation classroom serves dual purposes:
Assessing the patient's cognitive and physical functioning during her/his rehabilitation.
~ Students attend the Rehabilitation classroom each day for a minimum of 30 minutes.
~ Other therapies include speech pathology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, art therapy, music therapy and psychology.
Working with the student's regular school to make the transition from the hospital as smooth as possible for the student and her/his parents.
~ The Hospital School Program staff works with the student's home regular school to understand medical diagnosis, treatment plans and how both influence the students future.
~ Our staff also collaborate with the rehabilitation team on the student's assessments and makes recommendations to student's regular schools for Special Education services.
