MESD's Arata Creek School recognizes students for reaching
academic and behavioral goals,
being good citizens and helping others
On June 5th, the Arata Creek assembly room was packed with parents, grandparents, sisters and brothers, and family friends as Principal Henry Ramirez and Board member Bernie Giusto presented certificates and diplomas to well-deserving students. Students ranging in age from first grade through high school waited patiently but also excitedly as names were called and awards were bestowed. In a school that focuses as much on behavior as on academics, students were recognized for some simple things that most take for granted...such as attendance, maintaining good anger management, successfully attending Outdoor School and reaching reading benchmarks. For the diverse student body of Arata Creek, it was an hour of celebration that comes a few times a year, but was special on this day as the school is winding to a close. Congratulations to both students and staff for another outstanding year during which students grow, learn, mature and accomplish their goals. |
