Service utilization promoting positive outcomes in rehabilitation and transition for incarcerated adolescents and disabilities.

A Multnomah Education Service District project cooperative with:

* University of Oregon
* Oregon Youth Authority
* Oregon Department of Human Resources Vocational Rehabilitation Division

Program Description

Serving adolescents:

* As they return to the community from state training schools
* Not returning to local schools and needing employment
* With GED prep and testing
* Seeking employment
* With other needs which must be met before employment such as: housing, clothing (for employment), and obtaining proper identification

Components

* Facility curriculum and work experiences
* Facility-to-community transition planning
* Community capacity building
* Community-based support services

Youth Outcome Goals

* Reduce rates of youth returning to incarceration
* Obtain successful employment
* Obtain meaningful education completion documents
* Complete goals in other relevent transition areas
