Home Schooling - Homepage

Welcome to Home School! Home schooling is an educational option in Oregon where Education Service Districts (ESD) provide registration for students not enrolled in public or private school. Students may be home schooled at any time during the year.
Curriculum and assignments are not provided by the ESD or State, however, testing is required by the State at the end of grades 3, 5, 8 and 10.
You may register a child that is 5 years old and in kindergarten, but it is not mandatory to register students until they reach 6 years old. In order to be compliant with the compulsory school attendance law, parents of students between the ages of 6-18 must notify their regional Education Service District (ESD) of their intent to home school within 10 days of beginning to home school, withdrawing their child from school or moving to a new ESD region.
